Career Design Model™
The key to creating a fulfilling career and finding meaningful work is identifying an industry, organisation and career path with which you're strongly aligned. There are four core components that need to be present in order to achieve this alignment: Awareness, Aspirations, Alignment & Action. As an Executive Career Coach, I've brought these components together in a highly effective Career Design Model™. Learn more about the four areas below....
Awareness
A high level of self-awareness is key to identifying career paths that will be a strong fit for you and result in a strong sense of satisfaction and fulfilment.
Aspirations
A clear career vision, with associated goals and milestones is essential if you want to move your career forward with a clear sense of purpose, focus and direction.
Alignment
Identifying career paths that are strongly aligned with your values, purpose, personality, skills and vision is key to developing an effective career plan that will ensure career satisfaction and success.
Action
Creating your perfect career will only be possible if you're willing to step out of your comfort zone and commit to taking action, so you can implement a structured career development plan.
Obstacles & Hurdles
The prospect of making a career change can be daunting, so it's perfectly normal if you feel a bit overwhelmed about embarking upon your career transition journey. It may seem that there are some obstacles, hurdles and roadblocks that are preventing you from getting started and it's not clear how you can overcome them.
Fortunately, the process of overcoming these obstacles can be made a lot easier with some professional help and advice from a career coach, who can support you on your career change journey. A good career coach will build your confidence, enable you to tackle obstacles and make the the whole career change process much more straightforward, by breaking it down into a series of manageable steps.
Here's a summary of the four main obstacles and hurdles that often prevent executives, professionals and entrepreneurs from embarking upon a career change journey:
Fear Of Failure
Overcoming fears is often the key challenge of career change. Fortunately, tools and exercises such as 'Fear Setting' can help tackle fear of failure or regret.
Financial Concerns
The financial impact of a career switch can seem like an impossible barrier to overcome. The answer is often to design a gradual transition rather than immediate change.
Lack Of Information
Not knowing what options are available to you creates uncertainty and can leave you feeling stuck in a career rut. Professional support & advice can help get you moving!
Self-Doubt
Overcoming your self doubt, having confidence in your abilities and believing in yourself is key to your career success. Get help focusing on all your skills & strengths!
